Feet Do Travel have picked out a couple of UK locations and give you a brief overview of why we think they’re the perfect places to relax in 2020!
About as far north as you can get in the UK are the Scottish Highlands. This gorgeous region is everything you ever imagined when thinking of the Scottish scenery shown in old movies. The rolling hills and peaks leave you with a truly momentous image with towering, glistening rocks providing a scene more befitting of an episode of Game Of Thrones than it does a weekend away in the UK.
Whilst you’re in the highlands, you’ll be encouraged to explore. Whether you’re climbing Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest peak, or on the hunt for the infamous Nessie at Loch Ness, your imagination and inner-child will surely be having the time of their life during this trip!
Castles are another high point of any Scottish Highland escape, with a wealth of history and stories to be discovered as you delve deeper into your adventure.
Another area more like a scene from a mythical land rather than a region just over an hour away from some of England’s major cities is the Lake District. Home to an array of lakes, hills, and fells that are great fun to explore, the lakes aren’t all about staying active. If you wish to indulge and are looking for a bit of luxury, there are many large and boutique hotels to choose from who offer a range of pamper packages.
Further afield in Windermere there are watersports and boat cruises which are a brilliant way to spend time in the lakes. Check out the Lakes Distillery if you’re a whisky or spirits fan - their tour is a lot of fun, informative and you’re even treated to a few tasters along the way!
No matter if you’re an explorer or a lounger, there are UK trips to help everybody unwind and relax. Trips such as this are a great way to keep your head in good shape and to help you remain refreshed and fully-charged.
