How to survive a natural disaster, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, tsunami, flood, feet do travel
Extreme weather conditions can happen anywhere in the world at any time, but would you know how to survive a natural disaster?

It’s devastating for residents living within a country, but as travellers, any one of us could be visiting somewhere when a natural disaster occurs.

When we were in the Lombok earthquake on 5 August, we had no idea what to do, we just tried to think rationally and survival mode kicked in. When a tsunami warning was in place, for this we knew what to do – get to high ground.

This post isn’t intended to scare, but to educate us all on what to do when faced with circumstances we are unfamiliar with. I haven’t endured all the situations within this post, if I had, I’m unsure if I would be the luckiest person still alive, or the unluckiest to have been in these disasters in the first place! So I spoke with my travel blogger friends to create this post.

I hope we are all able to learn how to survive a natural disaster.

Attending a festival should be part of everyone’s annual celebration. Why? Because they are just so much fun!

There are many different festivals held around the world throughout the year to suit every taste. Traditionally, festivals are a special day or period for a religious event or anniversary. They can also be an organised event such as a music festival, food festival, film festival or even a beer festival. Some are large involving thousands of people, others are small local gatherings.

People travel the globe to attend these elaborate events, and often make it the sole purpose for their trip.  We have!

There are many festivals on my bucket list which I have yet to attend, so to help me compile this epic list of festivals around the world, I asked some awesome travel bloggers.

The world is full of delicious food. With so many different types of food to choose from, where do you start?

When we tell people we have been a year in Indonesia, they say “I love Indonesian food”. With all this food around me (and its tasty food), is there a must-try dish I would recommend? What is the best food in the world?

Lorelei (California Globetrotter) was hosting an Afternoon Tea Party, and I began reminiscing about the delightful afternoon teas I used to enjoy in the UK, but which delicious dishes would people recommend from their own Country? Which tasty food did they enjoy from their travels?

We asked our travel friends, who told us their cultural food favourites from around the world. Feet Do Travel share world food: delicious dishes to try.

India. A country on my bucket list, but Sy wasn’t initially keen. He was unsure whether the culture shock would take away the pleasure of the experience. Little did he realise that it was because of the difference in culture he would love it so much!

There are many places to visit in India, however there were two specific reasons why North India and the Golden Triangle were high on my list; the Taj Mahal Agra, and to see tigers in the wild. When we found a tour company incorporating both, it was a no brainer!

What an absolutely amazing time we had!
