If you are planning a holiday this year but have recently switched to a healthier lifestyle, perhaps you are wondering how to stay healthy whilst you are away. You may think being on holiday is a great excuse to treat yourself and be lazy, but this can ruin all the hard work you have put into your diet and exercise regime. You can still have some great food and lounge by the pool, but mixing this with some light activity will keep you on track and make sure you stay fit and healthy all year.

Let us share with you some easy ways to stay active on holiday this year.

Adventure Holidays

The easiest way to stay active and healthy when you are away is to book yourself on an adventure holiday such as https://www.kandooadventures.com/. You will have fun trying lots of new sports and activities, and at the end of the day, you will be healthier and stronger for it!

Go Cycling

Instead of renting a car to explore the local town or city you are visiting why not hire a bike instead? You will be able to make your way through the area and smell great food, feel the wind on your face and enjoy the sun as you explore. You can stop outside any shops or cafes you fancy and you don’t need to worry too much about parking. Cycling is the perfect way to enjoy a new place, whilst keeping you active at the same time. If you have your own bike at home, consider taking it with you.

Get a Gym Pass

If you believe you cannot stay fit unless you visit a gym, you can always grab a short term gym pass in the local area where you are staying. You can wake up, have a quick workout and then enjoy the rest of your day on holiday. This will keep you in your current workout routine and make it much easier for you to carry on when you get return home afterwards.

Get Walking

A simple way to enjoy the surroundings on your holiday is to take a walk in the mountains or along the beach. Walking can be a great way to burn fat and keep your muscles happy during your holiday, and you can make the walk as long or short as you want. If you see somewhere you fancy exploring, check if it is in walking distance and go for it! Swimming

If you are staying in a hotel with a pool or by the seaside, there is no excuse not to take this opportunity and swim for exercise. Instead of standing in the water to cool off from the midday sun, take a swim for 30 minutes or an hour during the daytime. This will be a workout for the entire body, but it won’t feel like it due to the beautiful surroundings. If you want to have fun whilst in the water, bring a ball and throw it between you and your family members. Not only will you keep yourself moving, but it’s a great way to enjoy quality time with people.

Team up

If you are going on holiday with your family or your friends, get them to team up with you so you can all stay as active as you can during your time away. It’s a great way to bond whilst keeping each other motivated, and you will be much more likely to get results this way as you’ll have people there to spur you on.
