Book a stay that includes a fitness centre
A great way to stay in shape when you’re away from home is to workout in a gym.. If you're staying in a hotel or resort, make sure there is a gym or fitness suite on site when you book. If you're staying in an apartment or condo, ask your neighbours or concierge for suggestions on nearby gyms and health clubs.
If you plan to stay in a hotel for any length of time, maybe a week or two, choose one with a pool, gym, and possibly a sauna. If you can find one where the facilities are state-of-the-art, even better!
Some resorts have highly qualified trainers from associations like the American Sports and Fitness Association (americansportandfitness.com). You may even be able to book training sessions in advance through your hotel’s website.

Plan an Adventure Holiday
Adventure Holidays can combine fitness with fun. If there is a particular sport you love such as golf or scuba diving, chose a destination where you can participate in these activities. Scuba diving changed our travel destinations, and we have since visited amazing Countries we would never have considered before.
Alternatively you could choose a walking holiday, go trekking in Nepal or Machu Picchu, climb Mount Rinjani on Lombok, Indonesia, hike Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, arrange a cycling trip, visit a surf camp... the list is endless.

Try something new
If you are staying somewhere that offers watersports, then consider trying something new! When you're on vacation, you want to feel like you're getting away from life, and when we travel, we have a tendency to stop our workouts. However, if you try something new during your trip away, it will feel like you’re having fun as well as staying active.
Stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, learning to surf, aqua aerobics, yoga on the beach are all perfect activities to try when you are away. You could change your life forever by doing your scuba diving Open Water Course, and then you can scuba dive all over the world.

Discover your surroundings
If you like to explore your surroundings, why not incorporate a workout. While it’s important to relax and enjoy yourself, there are plenty of ways to fit in some physical activity without hurting your vacation vibe.
For starters, explore the area around your hotel or Airbnb by jogging or running. Instead of taking taxis, buses or tubes, you could simply walk around the city instead using GPSMyCity. Searching for Street Art in Singapore is the perfect way of incorporating something fun whilst increasing your daily step count.
Alternatively, find a hiking trail nearby (the app Alltrails is a great way to discover new routes). Getting out into nature will help clear your mind and give you some time alone as well as an opportunity to blaze some new trails.
Hiring a bicycle and cycling is a fantastic way of covering a lot of ground and discovering your surroundings. We hired bikes in China and Amsterdam and had a fantastic time.
Remember that exercising isn't just about burning calories; it's also about enjoying life fully while being fit and healthy enough to make the most of every opportunity and experience. After all: who doesn't want that?
