Although it doesn’t instantly spring to mind as one of the top places to visit in Australia, it can actually offer some of the most traditional experiences than anywhere else in the country. I will confess I have a soft spot for Brisbane, because I lived here for four months. It was an excellent base for teaching English as a Foreign language, which allows you to work and earn money as you travel.
Firstly you can hire a boat in Brisbane and relax, unwind or even party along the river as you take in the exquisite views of the surrounding islands. If you are into arts and culture, you will also want to pay a visit to the Underground Opera Society, who put on stunning musical performances in a former reservoir which dates back to the 19th Century.

Many tourists might not put this city on their list of places to stop, but Darwin has a very distinctive offering for everybody who comes to visit. From the open air markets at Mindil beach, to the breathtaking sights at the crocodile cove, you will truly discover something unique when you visit this vibrant and quirky city.

One of the hippest spots in Australia has to be Perth; full of youthful, vibrant, friendly people who are ready to welcome you with open arms.
