There are so many countries you want to visit, but Australia is definitely near the very top of the list. Not only because of the beautiful weather all year round, but because it is also home to some of the friendliest people, most stunning beaches and iconic buildings.
You have heard a lot of things about where you should go and what you should do once you get to the land down under, but there are four cities in particular that have really caught your eye. Feet Do Travel share four fabulous cities that everyone should visit if heading to Australia.
Although it doesn’t instantly spring to mind as one of the top places to visit in Australia, it can actually offer some of the most traditional experiences than anywhere else in the country. I will confess I have a soft spot for Brisbane, because I lived here for four months. It was an excellent base for teaching English as a Foreign language, which allows you to work and earn money as you travel.
Firstly you can hire a boat in Brisbane and relax, unwind or even party along the river as you take in the exquisite views of the surrounding islands. If you are into arts and culture, you will also want to pay a visit to the Underground Opera Society, who put on stunning musical performances in a former reservoir which dates back to the 19th Century.
If you love the vibe of urban areas and extended suburbs, far from the hustle and bustle of the city life, you will absolutely adore everything that Darwin has to offer. Many tourists might not put this city on their list of places to stop, but Darwin has a very distinctive offering for everybody who comes to visit. From the open air markets at Mindil beach, to the breathtaking sights at the crocodile cove, you will truly discover something unique when you visit this vibrant and quirky city.
One of the hippest spots in Australia has to be Perth; full of youthful, vibrant, friendly people who are ready to welcome you with open arms. There are huge bars spread across the beaches which are perfect for a memorable evening dinner, and Elizabeth Quay is just a stone’s throw away from some of the more picture perfect parks you will ever lay your eyes on.
If you’re looking to try your hand at surfing, then hitting the beaches in Adelaide will suit you perfectly. This is definitely the city for you if you’re an outdoorsy type who loves to soak in natural beauty. From the crashing waves of the crystal clear oceans to the stunning Royal Botanical Gardens you will come home with a lifetime of memories if you visit Adelaide.
Whether you’re hoping to sail a boat in Brisbane or relax on the vast beaches in Adelaide, these are four cities you won’t want to miss out if you’re visiting Australia. Of course, you will want to visit the famous landmarks and buildings, but don’t rule out some of the lesser known cities before you have researched them. You might just discover something incredible you never thought you would experience.
