Auckland - a bustling City
Auckland – A bustling City with a dazzling skyline

Auckland, located in the North Island is largest city in New Zealand, but despite its popularity, it is not the Country’s capital. Wellington, which is smaller than Auckland is the capital and located 640 kilometers west.

Home to over 1.6 million people, Auckland is a major urban area with a thriving culture, an large international community, and an amazing clubbing scene. The city is well known for its Maori community and culture which still continues to thrive.

Auckland’s numerous seafood markets are some of the most important and defining for the City. As it’s a coastal city in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, the country as a whole is rich in seafood production, and restaurants specialising in seafood are plentiful.

Auckland is also famous for its gambling scene, and Kiwis love to gamble which is evident when strolling along some of the many luxury casino venues. Online gambling is a primary means of entertainment, and one of the leading gambling services providers, PlayAmo New Zealand, saw immense growth in traffic during the Covid-19 quarantines. For people who love to play on the pokies, (the New Zealand word for slot machines), or try their hand at poker, you will find the standard of casinos on par with Las Vegas.
