If you are a lover of nature, there is nothing better than being in the great outdoors, especially when you are on holiday. Nothing beats exploring and experiencing the wonders of the world, and seeing wildlife in their natural habitat with your own two eyes is far more rewarding than watching it on a screen.

This article can’t even begin to cover all of the amazing options you have to choose from, so make sure you research thoroughly before you plan your trip away.

There are many different types of holiday you can book, but if you are unsure where to start, let us share with you three holidays for wildlife lovers.

1. Go Camping

Easily the most popular option among wildlife lovers, a camping trip has everything you need. During the day you can enjoy the solitude of trekking whilst on the lookout for wildlife, and in the evenng, toast marshmallows around a camp fire. For nature lovers, camping is so much fun, you don’t have to use a tent but invest in a bivvy or swag so you can sleep under the stars.

If this is your very first camping trip, it’s a good idea to be prepared. Make sure you read up on what you should take with you, and don’t forget to plan for bad weather.

There are many places offering camping packages, but if you are in Australia and wish to turn your trip into a proper adventure, book a holiday with camping Noosa. You will have an experienced tour guide as well as the freedom of trekking on your own.

2. Go on Safari

Seeing the big five with your own eyes is a dream for many, and definitely on a wildlife lover’s bucket list. Masai Mara is highly recommended, it’s a completely different story seeing wild animals in their natural habitat compared to visiting a zoo. You will never be able to look at an animals in an enlosure in the same way when you have witness them running free across the African plains.

If a trip to Africa isn’t within your budget at the moment, there are other typs of safari to consider, what about a whale safari, for example? Although whales can be seen in Africa, there are many other countries which also offer whale safaris.

To avoid disappointment, make sure you check if it’s whale season for the country you plan to visit.

3. Gorilla Trekking

Africa is the only continent in the world where you can experience gorillas in the wild. Rwanda or Uganda are the best two locations, but both require trekking for a couple of hours so make sure you have a good pair of walking boots that are broken in.

Nothing will prepare you for seeing these amazing creatures right in front ot you, they will provide memories that will last a lifetime.

If you want to spend your holiday watching wildlife, there are so many options. For example, you could watch the polar bears in Churchill, Canada, Orangutans in Borneo or Tarsiers in Indonesia, you can even volunteer with elephants in Thailand. Whatever you choose, future holidays will never be the same again.
