Located at an altitude of about 6000 feet, you can be at peace with nature away from the humdrum and hustle-bustle of city life. The place sees a confluence of three rivers namely Kundaly, Nallathanni and Madharupuzha. Weather conditions remain suitable all throughout the year for travelers. Whether you want to enjoy hiking and trekking or enjoy boating or even elephant ride – you can do all at Munnar. The landscape is dotted with tea and spice plantations. Shillong, Meghalaya

Among the north-eastern places of attractions in India, Shillong – the Meghalayan capital needs special mention. The city is the educational as well as cultural hotspot of the northeast. Researchers from across the globe find this place highly fascinating. Raw life is seen and said to be pulsating through Shillong. The city is best visited in the month of March. The weather remains favorable with clear blue skies and the Khasi Hills can be seen prominently on the east. Go on long walks among the waterfalls and the pine trees. Shop your heart out at Police Bazar and Bara Bazar. The Don Bosco Museum is also worth visiting in Shillong.

Ranthambore, Rajasthan

It is true that there are innumerable national parks and wild life sanctuaries in the world, but the Ranthambore National Park has a beauty of its own. September to February is the peak tourism season, but for wildlife enthusiasts March is the best month to visit the place. The National Park was begun as a tiger preservation site and today it is one of the biggest and most popular tiger reserves in India. Tiger spotting is easiest in the month of March (onset of summer) as the forest remains bare. The Ranthambore Fort is in the premises of the National Park and is an integral part of World Heritage Sites. Fishing cats and leopards are abundant. There is a Ganesh Temple in the fort, which is frequented by visitors in large numbers during annual Ganesh Festival.

Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh

Secularism is a specialty in India, where various religions are practiced in harmony with one another. It is obvious that there are innumerable religious destinations in the country as well. Vrindavan is one such vital place in India and considered as the abode of Lord Krishna, one of the most loved and revered deities in the country.
Holi is the main festival celebrated in Vrindavan and the celebrations begin almost 40 days before the main festival. Innumerable people from within the country as well as from abroad visit the place during this time. There are many temples in Mathura and Vrindavan including the famous ISKCON temple. Holi is celebrated here not with colors but with flower petals. The whole town is decorated beautifully.

The beauty of the Indian destinations is that each place has a different flavor of its own and is distinctly different from the other. The above mentioned places are perfect examples in this regard. Covering all the destinations at one go might not be easy, but one must make sure to visit these places more than once for it is worth it!
